Game Recap

It was a very special “Senior Night” for the Brebeuf Jesuit girls soccer team. After the school paid tribute to 13 seniors and their families in a pre-game ceremony Monday night, the Braves, ranked No. 2 in 3A, defeated the No. 3 ranked team in 2A, Cathedral, 3-0 at Varsity Field before a wild crowd led by the Brebeuf student body.
The Braves, ranked No. 1 in the nation by Maxpreps, are now 10–0-1 this season and will play Tuesday night at Circle City Conference opponent, Roncalli.
Brebeuf took a 1-0 lead at the half over the Irish when with 20:50 left, senior captain Kayla Fitts took a pass from sophomore Sophie Weeter and scored. With 33:19 left in the game the Braves went up 2-0 when Weeter garnered her second assist of the night on a pass to junior Brianna Arthur for the goal.
Senior captain and Brebeuf leading scorer Hallie Pearson closed the night’s scoring with a unassisted bullet with just over 21 minutes to play.
Senior goalie Reni Osuntokun was outstanding in the nets registering another shutout for the Braves. Brebeuf is 29-1-2 at home over the past four seasons.
