The Braves continued on their win streak by defeating St. Joe today in a very exciting game that went down to the wire. The final score ended up being 10-9. The Braves led most of the game with St. Joe only able to tie the game up in the 4th quarter. Brebeuf’s defense once again played Great by holding the high powered St. Joe offense to a limited number of shots. At the end of the 1st quarter, Brebeuf led 3-2 and the Braves defense shut down St. Joe in the 2nd quarter, with the quarter ending with the Braves leading 4-2. Brebeuf added 3 more goals in the 3rd quarter to St. Joe’s 2 with the quarter ending with the Braves ahead 7-4. The 4th quarter proved to be the comeback quarter for St. Joe in which they scored 5 goals to the Braves 3. With 4 mins left in the game, St. Joe tied the game up at 9-9. St. Joe never gave up with a number of opportunities to score including a 1 on 1 shot vs Braves goalie, Steven Geske with 2 seconds left in the game. St. Joe’s shot ended up hitting the pipe to end the game in regulation. It was another great victory in which the Braves played as a team and dealt with the adversities that the opposing team threw at them. Today’s win increased the team’s record to 10-4 on the year. Next game is at home on Wednesday vs Westfield.

Prior to the varsity game, the Brebeuf JV Team also won, defeating St. Joe 8-6.
