The Brebeuf Jesuit girls soccer team moved into the Championship Game of the Marion County Tournament for the fourth consecutive year on Saturday morning with its 9th straight shutout in a 3-0 victory over Lawrence Central at North Central High School. The Braves, now 16-0-1 on the season and ranked No. 1 in the nation, will play for a school-record fourth straight MCT title on Saturday night at 6:45 PM vs. Lawrence North at North Central.
Brebeuf wasted little time getting on the board when senior captain & leading scorer Hallie Pearson scored just 86 seconds into the game on an assist from sophomore Melanie Marshall and senior Sylvia Soria.
Exactly 13 minutes later sophomore Paige Edens found the nets on an assist from senior Jordan Smith and junior Brianna Arthur. Arthur scored the game’s final goal just two minutes later on an assist from sophomore Sophie Weeter. Neither team scored in the second half.
Senior Reni Osuntokun allowed No Goals for the 13th time this season. Brebeuf has outscored opponents 71-5 this year. The Braves are a remarkable 82-5-3 over the past four seasons.
