Game Recap

The Brebeuf Boys varsity soccer team pulled out a big upset when they defeated a strong and favorite Carmel Greyhounds soccer team at their home turf to move ahead in the toughest sectionals in the state. The first half showed a great through ball behind the Carmel defense that Sophomore Alec Bevelheimer was able to put past the Greyhounds goalkeeper.
Second half Carmel put a lot of pressure on the Braves and capitalized on a rebound to put away the equalizer.
But the reactions of the braves was quick and swift and allowed another through ball, this time to Jr Alex Potts who shot on goal but was deflected falling to the feet of Sr Jackson Widlic who put it away for the winning goal of the game.
The intensity of Carmel continued and the Braves allowed a penalty kick which was magnificently stopped by goalkeeper Sr Camdyn Wagner, who ended up player of the game.
The Braves play Wednesday against the North Central Panthers to decide who moves on to the final in this sectionals. Come out and support your Braves at Carmel at 7 pm.
