Game Recap

The Brebeuf Jesuit girls soccer team saw its season come to an end Thursday evening at Guerin when the Braves lost a second-round IHSAA Sectional contest, 3-0, to Carmel. The Braves end another successful season with an 18-1-1 record. For the seniors, they leave school proudly with a four-year record of 84-6-3, a national championship, a state title, a state-runner-up, four Marion County Tournament championships and the two first-ever Circle City Conference girls soccer crowns.
After a scoreless first half, Brebeuf, which had won 11 straight shutout contests, allowed a goal early in the second stanza. The Greyhounds added two goals later in the contest.

Senior captain Hallie Pearson ended the year as the team’s leading scorer and assist maker with 16 & 15 respectively. Season Goals/Assists totals for the departing seniors: Kayla Fitts 9/9, Alexa Holl 2/5, Hope Edens 3/2, Jordan Smith 1/4, Sylvia Soria 2/3, Caroline Bice 2/2 and Beth Messaglia 0/1. Brebeuf also says goodbye and thanks to these other contributing seniors: G Chloe Levine, MF Gracey Mansfield, D Lauren Kitten and D Megan Taylor.
“I’m very proud of our girls this year,” offered Braves coach Angela Berry-White. “Our senior class had one of the most remarkable four year runs of any group of girls to play soccer in the state of Indiana and they certainly left their mark on the athletic history at Brebeuf. They represented their school in top form both in the classroom and on the field. And I’d like to thank my assistant coaches for all their hard work and support.”
