Guerin Catholic used a ten-point run in the fourth quarter to separate from Brebeuf en route to a 48-39 victory over the Braves, the Golden Eagles’ fourth straight win over their Circle City Conference and 3A Sectional #25 rivals. Carter Murans scored on a dunk at the 5:45 mark in the fourth to give Guerin the lead for good at 36-35, and it seemed to energize his team and the vocal contingent of Guerin fans that were part of the sold-out crowd. He and teammate Andrew Reithman scored ten each to lead Guerin, who improved to 11-5 with the win. Brebeuf was led in scoring by Austin Ford with 10. Dylan Logan and Antonio Harris each had 8. The Braves led 26-17 at halftime after a great defensive first half, but there was a sense of money left on the table due to five missed shots at the rim. Brebeuf falls to 7-6, and will host Chatard next Friday, hoping to even their conference record at 1-1. Go Braves!
