The Brebeuf Jesuit Freshman Braves fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 4-3 loss to Cathedral JV Gold on Tuesday. Brebeuf lost despite out-hitting Cathedral six to five.
In the first inning, Cathedral got their offense started when Luke Hellman drew a walk, later scoring one run.
Brebeuf scored three runs in the sixth inning. Two scored on an RBI single by Sam Neier.
Eaman Hays got the start for Cathedral. He allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.
Braeden Sanders was on the mound for the Braves. He surrendered four runs on four hits over four innings. Aidan Aitken and Neier entered the game in relief, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.
Sanders, Jack Moroknek, Neier, Julius Dickerson, Phillip Hess, and Joe Fisher each collected one hit to lead Brebeuf.
