The Brebeuf Jesuit girls varsity soccer team picked up its second shutout victory in its last three games Saturday afternoon in the Lady Eagle Invitational in Zionsville with a 1-0 triumph over Northview of Ohio. It was the 98th win in the last six years for the Braves with 65 of those coming via shutout.
Brebeuf, now 4-1-2 overall, will play Wednesday night, Sept. 11, at 7:30 at home on Varsity Field vs. Cathedral. The game will feature the No. 1 ranked team (Irish) in IHSAA 2A vs. the No. 2 ranked team (Braves).
Junior goalie Savannah McNeal recorded her third shutout of the campaign against Northview and had three saves. Playing well defensively for Brebeuf were senior Molly Kennedy; juniors Gabi Arthur, Mary Munson, Morgan Shine; sophomores Erin Terry, Caroline Burns; and freshman Emma Urick.
The only goal of the game came with just 4:30 left to play in the first half when freshman Emma Urick scored off an assist from junior Gabbie Lindeman.
