The Brebeuf Jesuit Braves snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Southport on Monday. The game was tied at four with Brebeuf batting in the bottom of the sixth when Anthony Annee singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Southport scored three runs in the second inning, but Brebeuf still managed to pull out the victory.
Sam Reed led the Braves to victory on the hill. He allowed one hit and one run over two innings, striking out two.
AJ Short took the loss for Southport. He surrendered five runs on 11 hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Shane Bauer started the game for Brebeuf. He lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out five.
Brebeuf Jesuit collected 11 hits. Bauer, Jack Moroknek, and Annee each racked up multiple hits for Brebeuf. Moroknek and Bauer each had three hits to lead Brebeuf.
