Despite allowing three runs in the third inning, Brebeuf Jesuit beat Harrison 7-5 on Wednesday.
The Braves pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Grant Fahrlander hit a solo homer and Shane Bauer singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Max Cookerly led the Brebeuf to victory on the hill. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out three. Bauer and Aidan Hartung entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Bauer recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Brebeuf.
Tommy Layton took the loss for Harrison. He surrendered two runs on three hits over one and one-third innings, walking zero.
Brebeuf tallied two home runs on the day. Jack Moroknek had a long ball in the third inning. Fahrlander had a four bagger in the fourth inning.
The Braves racked up 12 hits in the game. Anthony Annee, Bauer, Fahrlander, and Gabe Wright each managed multiple hits.
