It came down to the last play, but Brebeuf Jesuit was on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Covenant Christian on Tuesday. The game was tied at five with Covenant Christian batting in the bottom of the seventh when Alex Coleman singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Darien Pugh was credited with the victory for Covenant Christian. He surrendered five runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out eight.
Sam Reed took the loss for the Braves. He surrendered two runs on three hits over two innings, striking out three. Bauer started the game for Brebeuf. He surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out five.
Gabe Wright led Brebeuf with three hits in four at bats including two triples. The Braves didn’t commit a single error in the field.
