The Brebeuf Jesuit Braves stole the lead late and defeated North Central 3-2 on Saturday. Brebeuf was down 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Andrew Pickett singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Brebeuf’s pitchers struck out nine, while North Central’s Evanview sat down six.
Shane Bauer was the winning pitcher for Brebeuf. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Evaniew took the loss for North Central. He went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out six and walking zero.
Aidan Hartung started the game for the Braves. He went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one.
