The Brebeuf Jesuit Braves took the lead late in the game in an 8-4 victory over Covenant Christian on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Brebeuf batting in the top of the eighth when Cole Hartung executed a squeeze bunt single with the bases loaded. Two runs scored on the play. Andrew Dutkanych tripled in the next at bat scoring two more.
AJ Rinebold took the win for Brebeuf. The righty surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out seven.
Buckley took the loss for Covenant Christian. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking one.
Chase Golden started the game for the Braves. The pitcher surrendered three runs on three hits over four innings, striking out six.
Brebeuf Jesuit totaled 12 hits in the game. Jack Moroknek and Luke Bauer each collected multiple hits. Moroknek went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Brebeuf in hits.
