Despite allowing four runs in the fourth inning, Brebeuf Jesuit defeated South Oldham 9-4 on Friday.
The Braves notched three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower was led by Luke Bauer and Alex Cookerly, both driving in runs in the frame.
Sam Reed earned the victory on the mound for Brebeuf. Reed allowed three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out four. Will Schenkelberg threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Schenkelberg recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save.
Seymour took the loss for South Oldham. Seymour went two and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out four.
The Braves launched two home runs on the day. Jack Moroknek put one out in the second inning. Cole Williams had a long ball in the second inning as well.
Schenkelberg led Brebeuf with three hits in four at bats.
