The Brebeuf Jesuit Girls Basketball Team defeated Trader’s Point Christian Academy in the first game of the year on Saturday. The Braves jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and never trailed. Junior, Gabby Godbout led the game in scoring with 19 points, including 4 three pointers. Freshman, Maddy Geary scored 10 points in her first varsity basketball game and senior, Rachel Moore added 7 points. Sophomore point guard, Erin Terry led the game with 7 assists and junior forward, Elle Born was big defensively with 3 blocked shots. The Braves are 1-0 for the season and will play Speedway at home this Thursday.
The JV Girls Basketball team also got a win on Saturday versus Plainfield, 40-20. The Braves were led in scoring by point guard Alaina Miiller with 12 points. Freshmen, Maciah Powell scored 9 points and Maeve Perry scored 8 points.
