The Brebeuf Jesuit Braves fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-1 loss to Carmel on Monday. Carmel fired up the offense in the first inning. Mitchell drove in one when Mitchell singled. They scored three runs in the fifth inning.
Aiden McConnell led the Carmel to victory on the mound. McConnell went three innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out four. Aiden Aitken and Nolan Wright entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Andrew Dutkanych took the loss for Brebeuf. The righty went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out four.
Anthony Annee went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Braves in hits. Annee led the way with two stolen bases as well.
Carmel racked up eight hits. Mitchell and Daniel Cunningham all managed multiple hits for Carmel. Mitchell led Carmel with four hits in four at bats.
